Seed Saving Workshop

Mercury Theatre, 331 Brae Road in Downtown Duncan.
Doors open at 9:30am.

A series of workshops on specific seed saving techniques, facilitated by local experts. A keynote address will be given by Dan Jason, owner of Salt Spring Seeds and President of The Seed and Plant Sanctuary for Canada.

Topics to be covered: organic methods, planting for diversity, roguing, isolation distances, inbreeders vs. outbreeders, annuals and biennials, harvesting seeds, winnowing, threshing & seed storage.

Cost for the workshop is $30 for CGC members and $35 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance from our office located at 181 Station Street, Duncan, BC. Limited bursaries are available for those in need of financial assistance. For more information, please contact the

Coffee and tea will be provided. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottle, mug, a bagged lunch, pen and paper and their questions!
